Sabbath

We began our Sabbath with a big family breakfast of pancakes and sausages, grilled up on our outdoor flat-top grill, Aaron’s happy place.

After breakfast outside, and much to the children’s chagrin, we really wanted to go to a local church. We chose Eastside Church, not for any reason other than that it was close! We believe we are all one body of Christ and that crosses denominational lines. As long as the majors points are in agreement, we are with family!

Our kids were a little hesitant at first but we were welcomed with a coffee bar (including hot cocoa and iced coffees, too!) and a friendly pastor who took our family on a tour of the kids building and talked about the ministries there. We were immediately put at ease after seeing their setup and meeting some of the teachers; Ben and Nora were excited to explore and stay for Sunday school where they joined a small group classroom right away. Hope decided to stay with us for “big church” and with drinks in hand we worshipped rock concert style with other believers. It was refreshing and exactly what we needed!

We headed to North Hutchinson Island after a quick lunch to something Aaron especially has been looking forward to: The Navy Seal Museum. This place was pretty amazing! It is the birthplace of the navy seals and where they did training along the beaches here for many years long before they were know as SEALS. It was interactive and fun for all of us- and everything in the museum was a real artifact - from the lifeboat used in pirate rescues, to a Blackhawk helicopter and multiple boats used over the years. We all especially loved the “O” course outside…. And you can see why!

Our parking space was right next to beach access to the now public beach. The shelling here was wonderful fun. We ended the day with dinner at Archie’s, an outdoor and very authentic beachside beachsidebiker bar.

Just another day in paradise!
