Blue Skies, Smiling at Me...

I think we’ve turned a corner in Texas. The power has been on consistently for a couple days and it is starting to warm up. The temperature is expected to increase by 10° each day over the weekend and back into the 70’s next week. It has been so good to finally see a blue sky and as I sit here, it is about 60 degrees.

We spent yesterday morning actually doing school and work again at our rig, and headed back to Shari’s brothers house for the afternoon. The kids were super excited to have a trip to 5 Below as they were finally open (though the are closing early as workers are still hard to come by around here).

Shari and I got to take a field trip to Costco tonight to finally start t0 restock supplies on our rig and we were very excited to get some new camping chairs there which are finally back in stock. My parents offered to get them for us for Christmas, but it is a Costco seasonal item, but down in Texas, the summer season has finally started, I guess.

The kids had another fun day with cousins playing games, doing crafts and sidewalk chalk, and just hanging out. Tio Brett made pizza's on the grill for lunch for everybody and then dinner was some amazing Chicken Parmesan that he made. We bought some delicious Air Chilled Chicken from Costco and Tio turned it into something amazing!!

Today (Saturday 2/20) the kids got to sit in on an Art class that their cousins are taking and then go out to Dairy Queen for some treats. Aaron spent the day at the trailer taking time to finally get it all setup as the threat of pipes freezing seems to have passed for the moment (though they are calling for a dip below freezing one night next week). But we are finally getting into a routine here in Texas that doesn't involve trying to find someplace with power, heat and water.

How much is Texas offering to pay You not to come back next year?

Tell them Your folks have reservations. That ought to loosen up the State Coffers!
